As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!’ ‘Do you see all these great buildings?’ replied Jesus. ‘Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.’
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked him privately, ‘Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?’ Jesus said to them: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. Many will come in my name, claiming, “I am he,” and will deceive many. When you hear of wars and rumours of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth-pains.
‘You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. ‘Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
‘When you see “the abomination that causes desolation”] standing where it does not belong – let the reader understand – then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. ... because those will be days of distress unequalled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now – and never to be equalled again. ‘If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. At that time if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Messiah!” or, “Look, there he is!” do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. MARK 13:1-22.
Four of Christ’s disciples privately asked Him about His Second Coming on the Mt. Olives and His detailed answer is recorded in the synoptic gospels; Matthew23-24, Luke21 and Mark13. Christ began this important discourse with the admonition:
Watch out that no one deceives you.
Concerning being deceived, Christ pointed out three clear signs before His Second Coming that they must watch out for; (1) The first sign will be deception, by which the days before His Coming would be characterised. (2) The world leader; ‘the abomination that causes desolation’ will appear in the holy place in Jerusalem and powerfully and cunningly deceive people into worshiping him. (3) The deception would be so powerful that even ‘the elect’, ie., Christ’s followers would be deceived.
Christ warned His disciples that many (and not just one) antichrists would be coming in His name, claiming to be “a Christ”, to deceive the world with supernatural power in unimaginable proportions. Referring to such days, Apostle Paul taught:
Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction (2The.2:3),
in which he clarified that the two things to occur before His Coming would be ‘the apostasy’ as well as the unveiling of the Antichrist. The Greek term ‘ἀποστασία’ (falling away) here is understood to suggest a sudden forsaking or defection from the biblical world-view as a definite event, which means to deliberately forsake and rebel against known truth and God.
The world leader who exalts himself over everything and who proclaims himself to be God will accomplish the deception with false signs and wonders. As a result, all those, including believers who ‘didn't receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved’ will believe a satanic lie because God will send them a ‘powerful delusion’ (2The.2:9-12) as part of His judgment. Paul also explored this subject in Romans 1:18-32.
There are many who believe that the coming worldwide deception will climax beyond simple philosophical or theological deviations, or every belief system; “ism”. An interesting article titled: “Project Blue Beam – False Alien Invasion + Projections in Sky of Religious Figures with Call to Unite Under One World Religion Led By The Antichrist” dated on 2 Jan.2021, which I have lately come across depicts several possibilities of such deceptive events in four steps. On the site, several videos are available. The article explains the four stages of “Project Blue Beam”, which is presented by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration): 1. Engineered earthquakes to produce archeological findings, 2. Holographic images in the clouds, 3. Telepathic communication, 4. Electronic provision of supernatural manifestations.
I have summarized it as the following.
➀Recent slowdown in the earth’s rotation might be associated with a 25 to 30% increase in the number of significant earthquakes. The hidden agenda might be to merge all religions into one world religion. For this purpose, by unearthing archeological findings, a false truth will be uncovered.
➁Currently, companies are pushing three-dimensional holographic technology, and such a holographic show in the clouds is so real that it will make people mistake them for reality. The hidden purpose is to provide a holographic moving image to either portray a message, or false attacks on the world.
➂The advanced, artificial technology of “Telepathic Communication” already exists and has been used through commercialization or movie magic. The idea is to push communication to an individual, without external sound waves. On a wider scale, 5G will be required as a backbone. An individual’s inner ear will be stimulated by a hyper sonic sound, and s/he will be fooled and manipulated to believe that a higher intelligence is speaking to him/her alone.
➃The fourth step refers to the universal supernatural manifestation by electronic means. One of three different orientations is to make people believe that an alien invasion is about to occur in every major city in the world so as to provoke each nation to use nuclear weapons against it.
I don’t necessary endorse this whole view, however, I do believe that the end times deception will likely involve a worldwide series of physical manifestations by satanic forces accompanied by supernatural signs and wonders (perhaps aided by such advanced technology) that will persuade many.
